When I first looked at the DD mini, the product description said it was a download only remote control. However, after downloading the application to my computer I was given the option to make an in-app purchase which downloaded a software license which gives access to the entire Play Store. I downloaded this software and installed it. After that I found out the application does not contain some important applications for a typical Play Store application.
These applications include the Google Maps App, the YouTube App, the Amazon Kindle App, the iTunes App, the Microsoft Bing Apps, and the MS Outlook App. While I was going through these applications, I discovered I could just as easily download the applications as the license to the software. This is quite odd, since the license to the software is supposed to be considered as one unit which must be purchased as a package. A minute later I downloaded an application from the Play Store, which was considered to be a new version of the software, but was only downloaded and installed on my phone. This is a clear violation of the terms of the Play Store. This would be like saying that you have bought the first edition of the Xbox 360 game, "Xbox, and then just went ahead and downloaded a new version of the game that is already available.
After some investigating I found out there was a way to get around the iTunes App, and Google Maps App is missing from the application. The way to do this is to get the Google Maps application that you want to install onto your device. Then go to the Android Market on your PC and get the application. When you go to buy the application, instead of going to the Google Play Store that is also on your PC, you just go to the Apple App Store. This will give you the original Google Maps application.
